Environmental and Sustainability Policy

London Boardgame Show seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for all attendees, exhibitors, staff, contractors and volunteers.

We are committed to preventing injury, illness and unsafe conditions through effective planning, management and continuous improvement.

In order to achieve this, we will:

  • Comply with all applicable health and safety legislation. 

  • Comply with all applicable venue health and safety guidelines. 

  • Communicate all applicable health and safety legislation to Participants. Conduct risk assessments for all activities. 

  • Provide appropriate training and supervision.

  • Maintain safe premises and equipment.

Report and investigate accidents and near misses.

The London Boardgame Show team is committed to ensuring an inclusive space where everyone is treated fairly, with dignity and respect. Our Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behaviour for all those participating at the event.

We commit to the following:

  • Fostering an inclusive culture.

  • Providing equal access to participation.

  • Making reasonable adjustments where required.

  • Challenging and correct discriminatory behaviour.

  • Promoting diversity across all activities.

We strive to include a diverse range of speakers, creators, exhibitors and community voices within event programming where practical. Our goal is to support opportunities for underrepresented groups to participate in and contribute to the tabletop gaming community.

To ensure equitable and fair access to Event, the Organisers will provide case-by-case discounted hardship tickets for people who wish to attend but cannot afford tickets. This limited offering will be provided for those who contact the Organisers directly and will be managed at the discretion of the Organisers.

We take sustainability seriously and promote sustainability practices among attendees, exhibitors and suppliers. All our actions are informed by our Environmental and Sustainability Policy below: 

Waste Reduction

  • Minimise waste generation wherever possible.

  • Encourage the use of reusable, recyclable and compostable materials.

  • Provide clearly marked waste and recycling stations throughout the venue.

  • Work with venue partners to maximise recycling and responsible waste disposal.

Responsible Purchasing

  • Prioritise suppliers, contractors and partners that demonstrate environmentally responsible practices.

  • Reduce the use of single-use plastics and unnecessary packaging.

  • Where practical, source products and services locally to reduce transport emissions.

  • Seek opportunities to collaborate with organisations and initiatives that support environmental responsibility. 

Printed Materials

  • Reduce printed materials by providing digital schedules, maps, programmes and event information where possible.

  • Where printing is required, use responsibly sourced or recycled materials whenever practical.

Travel and Transport

  • Encourage attendees, exhibitors and staff to use public transport, cycling or walking to attend the event. 

  • Provide information on sustainable transport options to and from the venue.

  • Provide a safe and walkable space between venues 

Shared Responsibility

Creating a more sustainable event is a shared responsibility. We encourage all attendees, exhibitors, contractors and partners to support these commitments and help reduce the environmental impact of the event.

Corner Corner is a multi-use cultural destination that is part of a zero-mile food system. The vertical farm at the heart of the venue supplies the venue’s food hall and cafe.
